Gilead has already set the price list for its antiviral Remdesivir, used to combat Covid-19. This way, each dose will cost 390 dollars (348 euros), if patients opt for a five-day treatment (six doses), the cost is fixed at 2,340 dollars (2,090 euros) for each one, according to ‘Reuters’ .
This is a great novelty for the one who is currently the first drug, and the most promising, against the new coronavirus, making news in all the media of recent times, but that until today had no value attributed.
Gilead will thus commercialize Remdesivir to the government of the United States and other developed countries for a price of 390 dollars (about 348 euros) per dose.
According to studies carried out on the drug, most patients could receive an average of five doses of Remdesivir, which means that the total cost of treatment is around 2,340 dollars, 2,090 euros.
With regard to sales to private health services, the cost is 33% higher. In this case, the sale price of each dose will be 520 dollars (about 464 euros), in turn the treatment price will be 3,120 dollars (about 2,785 euros).
With this news, the value of the North American pharmaceutical giant is undergoing a new impulse on Wall Street and is on its way to 100 billion dollars of capitalization. Last Friday the company closed the day with a market value of 93.54 billion dollars, about 83.5 billion euros.
