345,000 euros were donated to the “Angels over Latvia” campaign.

Until Sunday evening, when the central event of the charity campaign took place, the concert, 344,989.03 euros in donations had been collected.

This year, “Angels over Latvia” is enlisting the help of five campaign ambassadors: seven-year-old Aurora, ten-year-old Velta, nine-year-old Mihailas, four-year-old Artūrs, Nine-year-old Polina, and 182 other children across Latvia. Latvia, whose peer support will help improve their quality of life.

As the specialists of the Pediatric Hospital Foundation point out, the number of sick children increases every year, so the involvement of the public becomes an ever greater necessity. The goal outlined in the campaign – €464,222 – will help 187 children who are most in need of help, but in total there are 337 children waiting for support across Latvia, whose care requires €800,287.

During the campaign this year, 88 children with autism spectrum disorders, 25 children with movement disorders, 56 children who need help in emergency situations, as well as eight children who sometimes need hospitalization, are waiting of help.

To ensure that as many people as possible can participate in the campaign, the telephone fee for donations has been reduced this year from 4.27 euros to 1.42 euros.

The charity drive continues into January, so residents are welcome to donate and lend their support to any children waiting for help. Everyone is welcome to donate to children through January 31, 2023.
