“34 million euros up for grabs” in 2021 for the races at the Racecourse of Chartres

“Keeping members who are not on the board of directors informed” was the aim of the general meeting of the Chartres racing company. Its president, Jean-Luc Thirouin, drafted an overall “positive” assessment of the year 2021 on Friday evening despite a slight decline in advertising revenue.

Fourteen races took place at the racecourse this year, ten of which were Premium. The first three took place behind closed doors due to the Covid emergency. They generated nearly 34 million in Premium bets and € 145,000 in PMH bets (racecourse mutual bets). Over the entire year, the billboards raised € 15,895. The total number of sponsors reaches the sum of € 45.855.
The assembly allowed to present the association’s ongoing projects as well as its new employee in charge of communicating and promoting the actions carried out.

Towards a partnership with Rome

The next six meetings will take place in 2022, next on 21 October. The last will be on December 2nd. After the winter break, the recovery will take place at the end of March. The year 2023 will still have fourteen matches, ten of which are Premium. Eight of them will be organized on Sunday. “It is advantageous when there are no other matches on other big circuits,” said the president.

This year the racecourse obtained the first level of EquuRES certification, a mark recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture for respect for animal welfare and respect for the environment. This certificate is valid for three years before its eventual renewal.

“A partnership with the Rome Hippodrome will probably be established by the end of the year. They organize between 130 and 160 meetings a year. It is the equivalent of Vincennes. They are delighted to be able to work with us, “says Michaella Dutetre, head of racecourse promotion.
