Under the influence of alcohol, a 33-year-old man in the Krems district threatened to “dismember and hack” his mother and his former partner. Because he was handling a large splitting ax in the garden of the house he shared with his parents in the Langenlois cadastral community of Schiltern, the mother locked herself in her room out of fear and notified the son’s ex-girlfriend (34).
Large-scale police operation
The woman had moved out of the household with her three-year-old daughter because of similar incidents in the past. Threats from calls and WhatsApp messages prompted the former partner to call the police. This reacted quickly: officers of the operational unit (EE) and other police units arrested the violent offender on Saturday afternoon in Schiltern. He was admitted to the Krems Prison by order of the public prosecutor’s office.
The man, who was already heavily drunk when he was arrested, must expect a series of charges, including dangerous threats, coercion, stalking and continued violence. In addition, a gun ban was imposed on the 33-year-old.
