33 Residents of Krukut Covid-19 Transported to Wisma Atlet, One Omicron Suspect

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

A total of 33 residents Krukut, Tamansari District, West Jakarta evacuated to the Corona Emergency Hospital (RSDC) Athlete’s House. They were evacuated after being suspected of being exposed to the corona virus (Covid-19).

Krukut Village Head, Ilham Nurkarin confirmed the news. In fact, one of them is a suspected case of the Omicron variant of the corona virus.

“The 33 people were brought in because their antigen swab results were positive, and taken to the Wisma Atlet Hospital for controlled isolation,” Ilham said when contacted, Saturday (8/1).

According to him, this case began when a resident went to Anyer and Puncak recently. One resident was later found to be positive for the corona virus, and when Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) was carried out, he was declared a suspected Omicron case.

From these findings, the kelurahan then carried out the first tracing, and the results were 13 positive people after undergoing an antigen test. The 13 people were then taken to the Wisma Atlet to undergo controlled isolation.

Then, the village office again carried out tracing on Friday (7/1) on 63 other residents. The tracing results showed that 20 people tested positive for the antigen test results, bringing a total of 33 people who were brought to the Wisma Atlet.

“The latest information, of the 33 people, 13 of them have PCR results and it’s true that the results are positive,” explained Ilham.

Previously, the spread of the corona virus in the capital city had indeed increased in recent times. It was recorded that as of Friday (7/1) the total active cases in Jakarta reached 1,394.

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, said that the increase in cases was the result of the recent Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays.

“I think this really needs to be our concern, there has been a fairly high increase in the past few days, maybe one of them is because it is Nataru’s holiday,” said Riza at City Hall, Jakarta, Friday (7/1).
