Edgar Trankalis, who measured the road to Rome by bicycle in 39 days

“It simply came to our notice then. I have reached Rome! Yes, I alone remember the wheel from Rucava to Rome. This had to be skipped and 3222 kilometers were driven instead of 3333 km. It took me 39 days, of which 38 days I mentioned. The total elevation I had to overcome was 42 kilometers. Eight times I had to climb over 2000 meters above sea level. Two of them in one day. The highest peak is 2571 meters above sea level. Speed record 87 kilometers per hour. The most consumed calories in one day – 9500. The most drunk water in one day – 11.5 liters. Lowest and highest temperatures during the day, + 5 ° C and + 49 ° C respectively. “

Commenting on the trip, he admits that he has ridden both snow and hail, and mud and rain. On the way I had to face both sun and glow, as well as wind and cold weather. The roads have also been different, both good and not so good. I also had to drive off-road and sandy forest roads, overcome various types of trails and paths.
