HARIANHALUAN.ID – Head of Padang City Health Service, dr. Srikurnia Yati said that his party succeeded in catching 3,200 TB cases in Padang Town. Where most people suffer from a productive age of 15 years and older.
“As of September 2024, 3,200 TB cases have been detected in Padang City. “We are proud that these cases can be opened, so that they are completely handled in 6 months,” he said when Haluan met him, Thursday (10/10).
Furthermore, he said the recovery rate has now reached 89 percent.
“Some are in treatment. We hope no one does. “They all completed treatment in 6 months,” he said.
The Padang City Health Service, he continued, continues to collaborate with the community health centers and various health professions by screening intensively through active activities on Saturday.
“We hope that as many residents of the city who have complaints of cough for more than 2 weeks, pressure not rising, fever, will be screened. “So we find wherever the issues are,” he said.
Through a joint commitment, Dr. Srikurnia believes that TB in Padang City can be 100 percent eradicated by providing complete treatment so that it does not infect others.
He also said that TB victims should not be ashamed and cover up.
“TB does not need to be covered. Need to open and solve. “Because TB is an infectious disease that can be prevented,” he explained.
An unhealthy lifestyle such as smoking is one of the factors that affect TB. (h/yes)
