According to the company announced, its future electric car will have “the fastest electric car charging ever offered.” Indicates that Lucid Air can be charged for obtain a range of 20 miles (32 km approx.) per minute of charge. This is achieved thanks to a 900V charger with peak loads of 300 kW. To put it in perspective, the Tesla V3 Supercharger achieves peaks of 250 kW and about 25 kilometers of autonomy for the car every minute.

Lucid Motors’ extraordinary chargers will be available for now in the United States. For this the brand has partnered with Electrify America, a Volkswagen subsidiary, to create a network of chargers all over the country. All this, in principle, once they present their electric car and go on sale.
To this fast charge we must also add another of Lucid Motors’ promises for your vehicle: 830 kilometers of autonomy per charge. It has achieved it under the EPA standard, it remains to be seen in practice and in real environments if those numbers are really achieved. Charge the car at home, charge the house with the car
Along with the details of the fast charge of its new charger, Lucid Motors also warns of a curious feature that the vehicle will bring: bi-directional charging. That is, while traditionally an electric vehicle only receives energy from its batteries, Lucid Air will also offer energy from its battery as a charger. This will be done thanks to a special home charger, the Lucid Connected Home Charging Station.
According to Lucid Motors, we can use the Lucid Air car as an emergency battery if necessary. For example, if the light in the house goes out, the car battery can temporarily supply power to the home. Any idea similar we have seen in the past.
At the moment there are not many more details about the arrival of the chargers, while the car is expected to be presented next month. There are many unknowns and expectations around the luxury electric car that Lucid Motors prepares. We will see more about it in September, although the price already aimed in 2017 to be tall.
