Reuters quoted Ukraine’s police chief, Ihor Klimenko, as saying that at least 32 people had been killed in the Kherson region of southern Ukraine since the withdrawal of pro-Moscow forces two weeks ago.
Klimenko stressed that “daily Russian shelling destroys the city and kills the peaceful local population. In all, Russia has killed 32 civilians in the Kherson region since the end of the occupation.”
“Many people are leaving to seek safe haven in quieter parts of the country. But many residents are still in their homes and we need to provide them with as much security as possible,” he added. She added, “Police have resumed work in the area.”
