The Wedel network, in which many public, church, cultural and social institutions as well as volunteer individuals are involved, is looking forward to the new edition of the Wedel social market on the town hall square in Wedel. And it is a very special one. This year the Wedel social market is celebrating its 30th edition. It will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the town hall square in Wedel.
At the opening at 10 a.m., Pastor Udo Zingelmann will welcome the guests on behalf of the Wedel network. Afterwards, the 2nd Deputy Mayor Julia Fisauli-Aalto will convey greetings to the volunteers and organizations and the city of Wedel’s thanks for their diverse efforts.
The various institutions provide information about their offers at numerous stands. The AWO offers bratwurst and coffee, while the DRK local group in Wedel serves waffles and pea soup.
Highlights of the program are the performances of the wind ensemble of the Johann-Rist-Gymnasium at the opening at 10 a.m. as well as the performances of the WSC Cheerleader of the SC Rist Wedel (around 10.30 a.m.), the children’s dance group of the Turkish Parents’ Association Wedel (around 11.00 a.m.), the children’s dance group of Nancy Gomez-Juse from the district center “mittendrin” (around 11.30 a.m.) and the Unicycle group of the Wedeler TSV (around 12.30pm). The program ends around 1pm.
