30th anniversary concert of the youth choir “Kamēr…” / Article / LSM.lv

The youth choir “Kamēr …” celebrated the 30th anniversary of the opening of the new concert season of Euroradio live from Riga Dome with the vocal symphonic music program “Lux aeterna” on September 12 at 19.00.

One of the leading Latvian choirs was heard not only by Latvian Radio 3 “Klasika”, but also by Lithuanian and Estonian listeners at the time of the performance, and later the recording will be broadcast in Germany and Croatia. The live video of the concert was available on the public media portal LSM.lv, on the home page of “Klasikas”, as well as on the Facebook page of “Klaiskas”.

At the center of the concert is Jēkabs Jančevskis’ new work “How to Say a Song” with lines of poetry by Knut Skujenieks, which has become a special dedication to the “While …” anniversary and will experience the world premiere in this concert.

The concert was opened this summer by the cantata “Lux aeterna” by the eternal composer Peter Bhutan, in which the presence of eternal light is revealed through canonical masses, Old Testament psalms and Aspasia poetry, but concluded by Richard Dubra’s choir work “Silence, Love and Light”. Its title contains the words of Mother Teresa about the silence of the moment of contemplation, the radiant power of love and the eternal light.

The concert was attended by the chamber orchestra “Sinfonietta Rīga”, with which the choir “Kamēr …” has a long-term partnership.

The live broadcast was hosted by Inta Pīrāga.
