The guests were numerous, Sunday August 27 at the end of the afternoon, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the cheese dairy “Chez Jeannot” and the 40th anniversary of the presence of Jean-Pierre Delmas (known as Jeannot) on several markets in the West of Toulouse.
The story begins in the 1980s when Jean-Pierre, a cheese maker on the Rieumes market, took over a brand called “Jeannot” which he decided to keep the name.
In 1993, he acquired land in Colomiers located rue du Catchère in order to create a small shop there which would be managed by his wife, Monique. In 2004, their son, Laurent, joined them at the end of his studies. The store and the cheese depot are expanding. In 2007, the cheese dairy became a limited liability company. Laurent became the president, Monique kept the accounts while the one now called Jeannot continued to sell on the markets of Colomiers, Pibrac, Lévignac and Léguevin.
passion and love
Jeannot is above all an enthusiast, an epicurean and a man with a big heart. Always friendly and affable even if his son underlines “the difficulty of working with this father with a strong character”. “This father who knew how to transmit his values to me, a father whom I have always seen happy to go to work and in perpetual search so that his team (about twenty employees to date) improves”.
Before concluding: “Dad, I love you very much and thank you for the trust you place in me” and going to kiss Jeannot very moved. And if today Monique is unfortunately no longer by their side, taken away by illness 5 years ago, the father and the son continue this beautiful family adventure with always the same faith, passion and legendary bonhomie.
Jeannot says he is “proud to have a son who has been able to develop the company and a competent staff whose members all have a certificate of professional qualification and the good atmosphere that reigns at work. The key to his success lies in a few words: “I like people”.
