According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), 1,398 people have died in connection with Covid 19 in the Hanseatic city since the beginning of the pandemic. There has been no further death recently. According to the social welfare authority, a total of 63,826 people in the Hanseatic city have tested positive for the corona virus since the beginning of the pandemic. According to estimates by the RKI, around 54,800 people in Hamburg can now be considered recovered.
Incidence value drops significantly
The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days fell to 134.7. Exactly a week ago this value was 163.7. The number of people in intensive care units also rose from 91 on Saturday to 102.

The rate of positive findings has recently risen to 6.3 percent. While the British virus variant is being detected more and more frequently, other variants such as the South African and Brazilian variants have so far not played a significant role in Hamburg, according to a statement on Wednesday.
