The vaccination campaign should experience a real boost in the coming days in Moselle. After the 2,000 doses released urgently this weekend by Olivier Véran in the wake of his visit to Metz on Friday, the Moselle prefecture announced this Monday morning the imminent arrival of 28,000 additional doses for the department. “An exceptional endowment to fight against the Covid-19 epidemic”, explains the State. These additional doses will be delivered in the next two weeks in addition to the deliveries initially planned. “Five thousand are arriving this Monday, ten thousand during the week and the rest next week. It is the result of a national reorganization of vaccine policy. It was considered normal for the emphasis to be placed on the territories experiencing the most tense situations, ”explains LREM deputy from northern Moselle Isabelle Rauch, who relayed the information this Monday morning on her social networks. According to the elected official, it is the Pfizer vaccine.

“A big effort”
To date, 37,000 Mosellans have been vaccinated, or 3.7% of the population. “79% of nursing home residents received the first dose. And among them, 47% had the second, ”said the MP. Caregivers over 50 who wished also had access to these vaccines. And the campaign for those over 75 (there are 100,000 in Moselle) also started three weeks ago, but places were very limited until then. This category of the Moselle population is now one of the priority targets for these new vaccines. Just like caregivers under the age of 50. The idea is to preserve the health environment as quickly as possible in order to hamper its proper functioning as little as possible.

According to the prefecture, “the centers are accelerating their vaccination rate (extension of opening hours, more injections per hour, opening on Saturdays). In addition, new centers will open their doors in the coming days. These are communal centers. That of the Thionville theater is for example in the starting blocks.
“It’s a big effort”, welcomes Isabelle Rauch. The MP said that beyond these 30,000 additional doses, the Moselle should then return to its usual quotas of 10,000 vaccines per week.
