3,000-year-old gold treasures have been discovered in Austria

The find appeared during the construction of a railway line

3,000-year-old gold treasures have been discovered during archeological excavations in Austria, DPA reported.

Among them is a bowl with a diameter of twelve centimeters, as well as a braid of thin gold threads, adds BTA.

The finds were found among the remains of a Bronze Age settlement near the town of Ebraichsdorf.

Archaeologist Michaela Binder believes the bowl was probably brought from the northern regions of Germany or Scandinavia for commercial purposes, as similar objects were found there.

The settlement from the end of the Bronze Age was found during construction activities for the construction of a railway line.

Archaeological excavations are mandatory in Austria in the implementation of such large projects.

An analysis by the Natural History Museum in Vienna shows that the braid was part of a gold-plated fabric, of which, however, only precious metals survived.
