3,000 masks made in the Montchapet district of Dijon

At the beginning of April, François-Xavier DUGOURD and Danielle DARFEUILLE, Departmental Councilors of the canton of DIJON 1, a group of 35 voluntary seamstresses led by Pauline LASSON, and the MJC-Center-Social Montchapet launched the “factory” of solidarity masks for the general public to offer them to the most fragile.

Thanks to this mobilization, the talents and generosity of each, more than 3000 masks that were manufactured in a few weeks.

Targeted distributions

More than 1,000 masks were donated directly to elderly or isolated of the Montchapet district.

1,000 masks are offered to social structures who work daily in the field with the most vulnerable, in particular the Secours Populaire, the Secours Catholique, the Restos du Coeur, the Food Bank, the ARPE (specialized in family mediation), the Cimade, SOS refoulement, the Stabilization Village ( which supports families seeking asylum), ACODEGE (for people with disabilities at home), SDAT (street service for homeless people with homeless people and shelters for emergency), Le Bercail (to support people suffering from domestic violence), Epi’Sourire (solidarity grocery)

Almost 1,000 were distributed to local traders and artisans to support them in resuming their activity in this difficult period and to reassure their customers.

And now ?

A reflection is now being carried out to extend this beautiful human adventure with new actions in the Montchapet district.
