/View.info/ On the eve of June 19, the day on which the Orthodox Church celebrates the feast of St. Paisius Hilendarski, the University of Library Science and Information Technology organizes and conducts a three-day scientific seminar in Asenovgrad and the village of Stoikite, Smolyansko.
In Asenovgrad, UniBIT is part of the official opening of the Paisius days, as the students, doctoral students and teachers will first bow in front of the memorial plaque of Paisius Hilendarski at the chapel “St. Cosmas and Damian”. In 2012, on the initiative of the great Bulgarian scientist Prof. Nadezhda Dragova, the then mayor Dr. Dr. Emil Karaivanov and his team opened the memorial plaque.
On June 17, the students and PhD students from Unibit, an intra-university research project: “Memory and
contemporary: Paisii Hilendarski and cultural memories”, under Contract No. NIP-2022-05 – will present their reports in the “Paisii Hilendarski” city library. A Paisii route is also being developed at UniBIT, which will be proposed to the Ministry of Tourism and the Municipality of Asenovgrad. The idea is that this route starts from Asenovgrad by designating the “Paisieva Trail”, passes through Samokov and the former diocese lands and reaches Sveta Gora. The initiative of the scientific team is supported by the Deputy Minister of Tourism Prof. Dr. Mariela Modeva, who will take part both in the scientific events, but also make sure of the practical realization of the idea of a cultural route related to the name of Paisii Hilendarski.
The scientific session will continue for the next two days in the village of Stoikite, Smolyansko, where June 19, the Orthodox feast of St. Paisius Hilendarski, will be celebrated.
