The government revises the “Dobry Start” program

Three years after its introduction, changes are coming in the program, also commonly known as 300 plus. On the website of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister you can find a draft regulation of the Council of Ministers on the detailed conditions for the implementation of the government program “Dobry Start”. The person responsible for developing the project is Undersecretary of State Barbara Socha.

The purpose of the changes is to optimize the service process and reduce costs. Savings for the state budget estimated in the draft are to amount to as much as PLN 488 million. The main change is to transfer project support to The Social Insurance Institution – now local governments, social welfare centers and other organizational units (e.g. benefit center) are involved in it. “The Social Insurance Institution has adequate human resources and IT systems, and thus it will handle the payment of benefits in a more effective way” – can be read in the project.

300 plus will only be paid into the bank account

Another change in the 300 plus will concern the way you receive the benefit. Currently, it is possible to receive cash withdrawals by postal order. The draft regulation provides that all benefits will be paid to the bank account number provided in the application. So it will not be possible to receive money “in hand”.

Yet proposal O “Good start” it was possible to submit online, via electronic banking, PUE portal SISTER or the traditional way – that is directly at the commune office or through Polish Post. The new project assumes a complete digitization of the submission of applications – registration will only be possible online.

Who can benefit from the “Dobry Start” program?

The beneficiaries of 300 plus are over 4.5 million students in Poland. The allowance is granted once a year for each child attending school up to the age of 20. During their education, disabled children receive the allowance until they reach 24 years of age.

300 plus is not available for children attending kindergarten and children undergoing one-year kindergarten preparation in the so-called kindergarten in kindergarten or school. The program also does not include students.
