Würzburg. Every two years the Mainfranken fair is the meeting point of the region. Nevertheless, this year it is a special event, because after the challenging months full of restrictions caused by the corona pandemic, it is not a matter of course that the fair can take place from 25 September to 3 October at the exhibition grounds on the banks of the Main in Würzburg. The fair also looks different: fewer but larger halls give the event a new face.

As one of the first trade fairs after the trade fair restart in Bavaria, the event has fewer exhibitors this year than two years ago: some companies are still struggling with the challenges of the Corona crisis. Nevertheless, the almost 300 exhibitors cover the well-known and popular subject areas with their offers.

Visitors will find everything to do with building, living, saving energy, gardening, tourism and leisure, outdoor and sport, fashion and beauty, kitchen and household, service and health as well as regional offers and enjoyment.
The tour of the fair offers everything from sporting activities and new construction projects to regional enjoyment. Anyone starting the tour at the south entrance at the Friedensbrücke will be greeted by the Würzburg-Halle, which has the motto “Change through trade (n)”. The city of Würzburg and its offices present information and hands-on activities. Further partners are the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg and the University Hospital as well as the Würzburg start-up centers. There is a daily stage program at the FHWS University of Applied Sciences in Würzburg-Schweinfurt. In Hall 1, regional experts present offers for everything to do with building, renovating and refurbishing. The summer garden with Franconian cuisine is located in Halls 2 and 4. Opposite is the new, large Hall 3, in which offers come together under the motto “from the region, for the region”. The focus there is on regional enjoyment. For the first time, the Würzburg sports clubs will be presenting themselves together at the Mainfranken fair, in Hall 5 and in the adjoining open space there are many hands-on activities and sports equipment that are waiting to be tried out: endurance, ball, trend, martial arts, and many other sports, such as beach volleyball and rugby, are available there. Hall 6 is a “woman thing”, there is fashion and beauty offers. “Enbau” is located in Hall 7, with everything to do with building, renovating and saving energy. Hall 8 offers leisure tips, information and services as well as Italian flair with “Bella Italia”. Hall 9 presents furnishing ideas and trends for everything to do with living and well-being, as well as garden inspiration and products for caring for the greenery at home. Hall 10 (outdoor area) has the motto “Outdoor Mainfranken” and provides experiences and offers relating to sporty outdoor trends.

Entertainment and music
Everything for the kitchen and household can be found in Hall 11, where kitchen stores show the current trends. The Mainfranken-Halle concludes the tour of the fair: the district of Lower Franconia and Bayerischer Rundfunk show what makes Mainfranken so liveable and provide entertainment. This includes museum funding, fishing advice and specialist wine advice, as well as information on social issues as well as career and training opportunities.
Bayerischer Rundfunk and its BR Mainfranken present entertainment, music, information, interesting and well-known guests as well as popular programs and formats. Due to the current requirements, tickets are only available online at www.mainfranken-messe.de/ticket. 3G proof is required for all visitors.
