30 years later, a Hispanic woman in California is accused of murdering her newborn and throwing him on the road

Los Angeles – California authorities accused a woman this Friday of murdering her newborn son 30 years ago. and leaving his body lying on a road in Monterey County, in the north of the state.

The accused, Pamela Ferreyra, 60, was taken to the Monterey County Jail and bail was imposed at one million dollars.

The suspect was arrested after Monterey Sheriff’s Department linked her DNA to baby’sfound dead on December 3, 1994.

The body of the child, just a few days old, was found by a man who was looking for recycling material inside a bag on a road in Las Lomas, a small rural community in the aforementioned county.

At a news conference, Monterey Sheriff’s Department spokesman Andy Rosas said: The case was reopened last year. and advances in DNA technology helped find the suspect and charge her.

“If you ask any law enforcement professional, they will tell you that the most difficult case to investigate is any that involves crimes against children,” Rosas said.

The case was assigned to the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office Cold Case Task Force, which was able to conduct follow-up interviews and obtain the DNA samples.
