This is confirmed by police inspector Odd Skei Kostveit to VG.
– He is wanted and will be arrested when he gets home. He is not in the country, says the police inspector.
The convicted man in his 30s lives in Hønefoss, according to the population register – but has been abroad for periods.
– He is linked to damage, not the murder, Kostveit points out.
– Do you have any idea where he is?
– Yes, we have. It’s a long way away, replies the police inspector.

Linked to tagging
The police believe that the convicted man in his 30s can be linked to one or more tagging episodes in Hønefoss and the surrounding area in the time before the murder in mid-August, VG is informed. He is said to have been with one of the other accused in the murder case in at least one of the tagging episodes.
The man in his 30s from Hønefoss has been convicted a number of times in the past, including for drug offences, drink driving, violence under particularly aggravating circumstances and violence against a police officer. In addition, he has been convicted of possessing a folding knife with a seven-centimetre long blade and breaching the Road Traffic Act.
VG has previously been in contact with the accused man in his 30s about the Jonas case, but he did not want to be interviewed.
He has not responded to VG’s inquiry on Tuesday.
