Under the slogan “We Run for Help”, the Zayed Charity Marathon continued its successes, adding the seventh footprint to the footprints previously achieved in Egypt, as some 30,000 Egyptians staged the wonderful conclusion scene with wonderful organization, so that year after year the marathon proves to be one of the hallmarks in Egypt-Emirate relations, where in the last hours before the closing of the registration doors there was a large influx of universities, government and private institutions to participate, which meant that attendance reached about 30 thousand, although the preliminary estimates of the Ministry of Youth and Sports registration site up to last Wednesday afternoon indicated the attendance of 20 thousand, but more importantly, everyone came out to express the love and appreciation of Zayed for the UAE’s efforts in supporting Egypt at all levels.

Salem Mohamed Salem was crowned with the Zayed Marathon title over a distance of 10km, and Noureddine Abu Bakr finished second and Abdullah Adel finished third.
The seventh edition was held, the proceeds of which were donated to the Ahl Masr Hospital for Burn Victims, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, Her Excellency Ambassador Mariam Al Kaabi, Ambassador of State to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Lieutenant General “M” Muhammad Helal Al Kaabi, President of the Senior Organizing Committee of the Marathon, and Major General Muhammad Taher Al-Sharif, Governor of Alexandria, and Lieutenant General Ashraf Atwa, Commander of the Egyptian Navy.

For his part, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, expressed his happiness at the success recorded by the seventh session of the Egyptian version, underlining that this is not surprising for an event which enjoys patronage and interest of the political leadership in Egypt, which provides him with all the ingredients for success, and said: The marathon is demonstrated in every session. Its value and higher goals, in a way that reaches the common interests of all parties.
He added: “The marathon is a model of cooperation between two countries bound by love and brotherhood, and it is also a model of cooperation between all parties involved in it: everyone is aiming for success and there is no room for anything else, and therefore it was only logical that success and ambition would increase. Sobhi confirmed that the Zayed Marathon has become a registered trademark and has a large presence among similar events around the world, and we are aiming for a better presence in the coming period, as the Corona pandemic has caused some obstacles to work for a short period, but our desire for return and continuity met with the brothers in Emirates was the copy of Alexandria.
The Minister of Youth and Sports expressed his happiness and pride at the grand event, regarding the marathon as a holiday that unites Egypt and the Emirates and enhances the bonds of love and brotherhood, and stressed that the marathon will continue its run after achieving successes that are hard to ignore, and said: “Everyone on the committees working on organizing the marathon is well aware that success is a copy of another, it increases our responsibility and compels us to adhere to distinct standards, and therefore I expect more success and excellence in the next editions, after the organizing committees used to present the new products every year.
Lieutenant General “M” Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, chairman of the Supreme Marathon Organizing Committee, confirmed that the impression of the event this year reaches the level of excellence, and said, “I personally feel relieved, after the marathon achieved its goals with merit, and most importantly the high participation through which we measure the satisfaction rate and overall sense of value. He added: In light of what the UAE provides, under the leadership of His Your Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, State President, may God protect him, in helping those affected, we will have gotten much of what we witnessed from his family, but we will immediately start thinking and working for the next version, and we, for our part, hope to visit all Egyptian governorates and provide support to all brothers in Egypt, emphasizing that the marathon contributes greatly to sustain and Emirati-Egypt relations.
Al-Kaabi stressed that the marathon contributes to the promotion of many cultures that we lack in the Arab world, especially the culture of love for others and the desire to help, as well as the culture of giving, which confirms that the marathon has taken steps towards achieving your goals.
He said: Success is a great incentive to continue the journey, especially since the Zayed Marathon has become a worldwide milestone and a model for an event that marks successes in the East and West, and he said: “This matter is not easy.”
Al-Kaabi added: Our beloved country, since its inception, has followed the approach of Zayed Al-Khair and seeks to reach out a helping hand and provide assistance, kindness and development to all peoples who are exposed to crises in various issues, and we, for our part, will always remain faithful to the Covenant, trying to lighten the burden on the shoulders of the sick.
He added, “Continuing to organize the Zayed Charity Marathon confirms the great interest that the UAE’s leadership and people take in their cohesion towards humanitarian positions and provides everything needed to help good initiatives in Arab societies and the world, in line with the message and the idea for which the marathon was set”.
Al-Awani: The Zayed Marathon is a victory for humanity
Aref Hamad Al-Awani, secretary general of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, confirmed that the Zayed Marathon represents, in each of its copies in Egypt or America, and also in Abu Dhabi, a new round of communication, kindness and donation, underlining that the marathon with its lofty and noble goals reflects Emirati valor and wise leadership approach in upholding kindness and giving. The approach and strategy that sustains humanity and triumphs for love and harmony without considering anything else.
He said, “We are very proud of an event that bears the name of the first man of kindness and generosity, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, the man who always brought Egypt and the his people all the love and appreciation, and the people of Egypt have exchanged love and appreciation for him.
He added: The state of satisfaction that was manifested in everyone during the marathon and after its conclusion, and the image that arose from the seventh edition represents a reason and an incentive to achieve more, but also imposes a great responsibility on us , continuing to carefully plan the next editions, which helps to keep Egypt-Emirates relations stable. The natural dimension is due to the love and intimacy that unites the two countries at an official and popular level.
Al-Awani concluded, noting that the marathon has become a milestone in strengthening these relationships, which we keep in mind, while praising the cooperation of the brothers in Egypt and their insistence on continuing the event.

In a majestic scene reflecting the love and appreciation for the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s spirit, may God rest his soul, determined people were eager to cheer for Zayed the Good after the end of the race.
Walid Al-Hadidi, the first place winner said: I am eager to participate in the marathon every year and except the first edition, I have been featured in the rest of the copies and achieved the first place 4 times, the second one once and the same in fourth place, and added: Zayed’s love in the hearts of Egyptians is great, as it is a mark in charitable and humanitarian work «.

Al-Hadidi stressed that he and all the participants in the race have love for the Emiratis and appreciate the role of its people and leaders in giving generously and lovingly to the Egyptians, a sentiment that makes us adore all things Emirati.
Ahmed Al Kaabi: The status of Egypt and the UAE reflects the value of the marathon
Ahmed Hilal Al-Kaabi, Member of the Supreme Committee of the Zayed Marathon, praised the status that the great charity event has achieved and the success achieved by the event in its 7th edition in Egypt, which does not stop because our goal in the fine is charity work, although its role is not limited to charity work, but has become a message of peace and love that the UAE brings to all the peoples of the world. He added: The UAE, with its openness to the world, has become a global model of coexistence, love for each other, commitment to cooperation and reaching out to all in need.

The young duo, Abdul Rahman Muhammad and Muhammad Hussein Abdul Rasoul, nicknamed the Eagle of Egypt as he used to win and shine in the Republic Swimming Championships in his age group, left a brilliant mark by participating in the marathon for determined people in the age of 14.
Participation comes for the sixth time for the first and for the fourth time for the second, which increases their experience and always pushes them to compete for the first fifty positions whose holders are rewarded according to the marathon regulations.
