30 Satpol PP Members Fainted During Ceremony Attended By Khofifah, Medical Officers Heltered

BLITARKOMPAS.com – Around 30 personnel of the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol-PP) from various regions in East Java fainted while attending the 72nd Anniversary (HUT) ceremony which was centered in the City Square BlitarWednesday (16/3/2022).

They are seen starting to fall when approaching 09.00 WIB.

At that time, the ceremony, which was attended by the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, had been going on for more than 30 minutes under the scorching sun.

Officer in a hurry

There were so many Satpol PP personnel who fainted, the medical officers guarding the three corners of the Square were seen trying to give help.

Some members who fainted had to be carried without a stretcher because the existing stretcher was being used to carry other members.

Head of the Blitar City PMI Service Section, Lutfil Hakim, said that at least 30 members of the Satpol PP had fainted.

“About 30. On average, because of exposure to heat, after the rain the conditions are humid and they faint,” he said at the location.

The judge revealed that the majority of Satpol PP personnel recovered consciousness after being treated by medical officers. But there are about five people who should get oxygen therapy.

Meanwhile, a medical officer from the Sukorejo Health Center, Ahmad Tegar Sunu Prakoso, said that dozens of members of the Satpol PP who fainted admitted that they did not have time to eat breakfast.

“Mostly this is because they don’t have breakfast,” said Sunu.

In addition, he said, the number of members of the Satpol PP who fainted during the ceremony was also due to the decline in health conditions due to the dress rehearsal the day before.

“Yesterday, during the dress rehearsal, it rained heavily in Blitar City. So many got rained on and even had to scrape because they caught a cold,” he said.

The ceremony lasted until around 09.30 WIB.
