Thirty dogs were seized on Thursday during the inspection of the Kwispel dog breeder enzo in Eersel. This was announced by the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA).
The breeder has been under fire for some time and has already been visited nine times by NVWA inspectors. Thursday’s re-inspection was supposed to show whether the farmer had made any improvements to the animals’ living conditions.
This turned out not to be the case. About thirty dogs were taken. According to the NVWA, these are animals that need immediate (medical) treatment, but do not receive it in Eersel. For the time being they will be looked after at an address where they will receive adequate care.
During the check it turned out that there were again too many dogs in one enclosure. Some animals were also polluted or had dental problems. The NVWA will continue to monitor the breeder in the coming period.
