The Head of the Pasuruan City Health Office, Shierly Marlena, said that dengue cases had indeed experienced an increasing trend throughout 2022.

SuaraJatim.id – City Health Office Pasuruan recorded a total of 30 cases dengue fever dengue (DBD) throughout January to March 2022. The rainy season has an impact on an increase in cases of transmitted diseases mosquito the Aedes aegypti.

The Head of the Pasuruan City Health Office, Shierly Marlena, said that dengue cases had indeed experienced an increasing trend throughout 2022.

“In the last three months, there have been 30 recorded residents who have contracted DHF. Currently there are three people who are still being treated in hospital,” he said, quoting from Beritajatim.comTuesday (22/3/2022).

He detailed that in January there were seven cases of dengue fever. Then the highest increase occurred in February with 17 cases. Then there were six cases in March.

“The trend is still the same as last year, there is always an increase in dengue cases in the rainy season,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) Task Force, Prof. Zubairi Djoerban said that dengue hemorrhagic fever or DHF could heal by itself.

However, he emphasized that although it can heal on its own, it cannot be generalized for everyone. This is because there are benchmarks regarding the criteria for DHF patients who can heal themselves.

“Most of the dengue fever patients, especially those whose platelets are still above 100 thousand, don’t need to be treated, and will recover on their own,” said Prof. Zubairi in his tweet quoted by Suara.com, Saturday (12/3/2022).

Even so, Prof. Zubairi said that although the platelets were above 100 thousand, the decision whether to be treated or not at the hospital still had to be consulted and in accordance with the doctor’s diagnosis.
