A 3-year-old girl is recovering after being struck by a moped rider in a shocking hit-and-run incident in the Bronx.

The incident occurred around 1:05 p.m. on Friday, November 29th, on the sidewalk in front of 3041 Holland Avenue in the Allerton neighborhood. Police say the young girl was walking on the sidewalk when a moped traveling illegally on the pavement crashed into her.

The little girl was rushed to Jacobi Hospital by EMS, where she was treated for what were thankfully described as minor injuries.

The NYPD released images and video of the suspect on Saturday morning in an effort to locate him.

He is described as a man with a heavy build and medium complexion, last seen wearing an orange jacket, black sweatpants, and black sandals. The moped itself is blue with black stripes along the sides.

The video footage shows the suspect walking through the area on the day of the collision.
