A 3 year old baby accidentally encountered a snake while playing outside his house. unexpected, child that’s direct snake bite until the animal dies in its mouth. This news immediately made a scene.
As quoted detikINET from Newsweek, the boy is named Ayush who lives with his parents in the village of Madnapur, India. Ayush was playing outside the house and his grandmother was shocked when suddenly her grandson screamed loudly.
The grandmother immediately came out to see what was happening. How shocked he was when he witnessed a snake already hanging in his grandson’s mouth. “I immediately took the snake and cleaned its mouth,” said the grandmother, Sunita.
The parents rushed their son to the local hospital. The snake that had been bitten to death was also brought along so that the doctor could hear their story more clearly.
After being watched for about 24 hours, the boy was declared fine. Dr. Mohammad Salim Ansari, who examined him, said that the child had taken medicine and was healthy. “It appears the snake he bit was of a non-venomous species,” he said.
India is home to nearly 300 species of snakes whose habitats are scattered across the country. More than 60 of them are venomous, 40 species are moderately venomous and the rest are not. The type of snake that was bitten by the toddler is not yet known.
According to the WHO report, of the estimated 1.2 million victims who died from snake bites between 2000 and 2019, more than a quarter were children under the age of 15.
WHO estimates that each year, there are 5 million cases of snake bites in India. Snakebite is a major problem in rural areas because access to hospitals is usually difficult.
This is not the first time there have been toddlers in India snake bite. In August 2022, there was a similar incident where a toddler bit back on a snake that had bitten his mouth. The toddler survived the incident.
