Billy Way lies weak in the hospital after eating Kinder Surprise chocolate. This 3-year-old boy from Wales is suspected of being poisoned by bacteria SalmonellaBunda.
Reported The Mirror, Billy fell ill after eating his brother’s Kinder Surprise chocolate last month. His mother, Kasey Cooke, said doctors were worried her son would fall into a coma because his blood sugar levels were so low.
“Billy loves Kinder Surprise eggs, he eats them at least once a week,” says Kasey Cooke.
“Her older brother got a three pack of chocolates for his birthday and since he’s not a fan of chocolate, I gave one to Billy.”
The mother said that Billy was looking forward to being able to eat Kinder chocolate. Apart from the chocolates, Kinder also gives gifts in the packaging.
However, Billy actually started to get sick often after eating this chocolate, Mother. The 3-year-old boy had difficulty even walking.
“He was very excited to eat chocolate and get toys in it. But a few days later, he started getting sick a lot. He couldn’t hold anything back and couldn’t even hold the weight on his legs,” said the mother.
“I had to give him diapers because he couldn’t get up to use the toilet. I went to the doctor outside of work hours and he was so sick that they said to take him straight to the hospital.”
Kasey Cooke said her son was being treated at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital in Cardiff, Wales. The son was kept on the IV for four days.
According to the family who saw the condition of the son, Billy looked like a ‘dead’ person. Billy’s body looked limp, his lips were dry, and his face was pale.
“When I sent a photo of him in hospital to the family, their response was that he looked like a dead man. He looked like he was dying, his mouth was dry, his face was pale and his eyes were black and sunken. He hadn’t sat for a week,” he said.
For several days, doctors continued to monitor Billy’s condition. The doctor is trying to keep his blood sugar level high as it keeps dropping, Mother.
