3 series G20 with illuminated kidneys

The 3 Series is also the epitome of the BMW brand in Australia, it represents driving pleasure like no other series. In the brand’s internal sales race in 2020, the classic in Australia only had to admit defeat to the X3, the trend towards the SUV is apparently unstoppable even “Down Under”. It is interesting that the 3-series sales could be increased by 8.6 percent despite Corona, while the X3 sales shrank by 4.9 percent. Overall, Australia was still one of the few markets in which more cars could be sold in 2020 than in the previous year.

The Australians are now launching the limited BMW 330i Iconic Edition as the next impetus for the success of the 3-series. A total of 200 vehicles are to be built, with 100 units each painted in mineral white metallic or sapphire black metallic. All 200 units have the M Sport package, carbon exterior mirror caps and the BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line with extended features, so black kidneys are just as much a part of the edition as the 19-inch double-spoke 791 M light alloy wheels in jet black.

The undisputed highlight in the first photos are the illuminated BMW kidneys, which are available as Iconic Glow front grille for every 3 Series G20 / G21 from BMW accessories. The double kidney grille, illuminated with the help of small LEDs, makes the BMW 330i Iconic Edition a real eye-catcher in every parking lot, especially in the dark, because while driving – unlike in the case of the X6 with Iconic Glow kidneys – at least in Germany the kidneys must not shine : Anyone who opts for the accessory option in this country can only enjoy the glowing kidneys on the way to or from the car. As soon as the engine is started or the vehicle is locked, the lighting in the double kidney grille is also deactivated.

Apart from the illuminated kidneys, the Australian BMW 330i Iconic Edition 2021 offers some high-quality equipment: All 200 vehicles are equipped with adaptive chassis, M Sport brakes, Live Cockpit Professional, Driving Assistant Professional and laser light headlights.
