The Xiaomi 13 Ultra will launch in Asia this week, and we are very excited. Above the incredibly impressive Xiaomi 13 Pro in the range, this seems to be the pinnacle of Xiaomi’s technological prowess.
We have already seen leaked details about the smartphone. Everything from camera specs and renders to very interesting accessories have been published, which has helped us get an idea of what could be presented.
It is a risky statement, but we could be facing the best Android smartphone in history. Because? Well, here are three reasons.

THE CAMERA
Smartphone cameras have gotten a lot better lately, so companies will have to do something more impressive to stand out. That’s exactly what Xiaomi has done here, with a quartet of 50 MP rear sensors ready to seriously step up your photography.
The main sensor, a 1-inch Sony IMX989, is the same one found in the 13 Pro. It’s been one of our favorite cameras this year, thanks to its impressive level of detail and gorgeous end results.
On its own it’s an excellent camera, but the Xiaomi 13 Ultra also packs a trio of Sony IMX858 sensors for ultra-wide, 3x telephoto and 5x telephoto functions. Having a top-notch sensor in the secondary lenses is quite a demonstration of the quality of the camera. In short, regardless of the camera you choose to take photos with, you are sure to get an amazing end result.
THE BACK OF LEATHER
The leather rear panel is genius, both for its practicality and its style. Today, many devices are designed with satin or glass back panels. And while they look and feel great, they’re incredibly slippery, so they end up wrapped in a case, making any design work on the rear completely unnecessary.
The leather back panel isn’t that common, but it should offer a much better user experience. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra looks set to use a textured leather rear, which should make it much easier to grip, as well as offer a premium look and hopefully eliminate the need for a case.

THE PERFORMANCE
The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is rumored to pack the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, so it should be very powerful. The 8 Gen 2 is one of our favorite processors on the market. It’s simply nimble, capable of delivering plenty of power when needed and making light work of everyday tasks.
It’s also brilliant when it comes to battery life, so it’s easy to go an entire day without fumbling around for your charger. Xiaomi is usually pretty good when it comes to fast charging, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
If we add to that the other rumored specifications (up to 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage), we could be looking at an extraordinarily powerful smartphone. The combination of that processor and that RAM should make for smooth mobile gaming, as well as other more intensive tasks that would normally drive users towards a tablet or laptop.
