Reported from CNETThursday (23/6/2022), downloading the beta version will give you an early overview of the revealed features Apple during his keynote earlier this month. However, since iOS 16 is still in its early stages right now, downloading the Developer Beta won’t be helpful for most people.
If you work as an app developer, downloading this version of iOS can be a good idea as it allows for an early look at the next operating system.
However, most people will have to wait until the first stable release of iOS 16 which is slated for later this year, likely around launch iPhone 14 are expected in the fall.
If you’re tempted, here are three big reasons why you might have to wait before downloading this iOS 16 developer beta:
iOS 16 beta developer costs money. If you want to legally install iOS 16 on your iPhone, you must first become a member of the Apple Developer Program. It costs 99 US dollars (US) per year or around Rp. 1.4 million for each developer.
As a member of the Apple Developer Program, you get early access to beta software downloads and applications. It helps developers build their apps better.
Instead of paying for the Apple Developer Program, you can wait until the public beta release of iOS 16 in July, which will allow you to test new features and settings before the general public.
The iOS 16 beta may also limit some of your phone’s features.
If you decide to pay for the Apple Developer Program and download the first developer beta of iOS 16 and installing it on your primary iPhone, it might not seem like a problem at first. However, as is the case with every beta developer, this early iteration of iOS 16 had bugs that could make the software difficult to use. Even if the first developer beta didn’t have as many bugs, later versions could.
Unless you are prepared to deal with various bug issues, you should not install iOS 16 on your iPhone, especially if it is your everyday device.
You may not be able to return to iOS 15 without deleting personal data.
If You’ve upgraded to iOS 16 developer beta and suddenly you run into a problem, to get back to iOS 15 you have to archive a backup of iOS 15. Your only way to downgrade is to restore your iPhone as a brand new device. Installing Apple’s latest mobile update (currently iOS 15.5), it can also permanently delete important data & settings from your phone.
