Three players confirmed to miss the 1st leg AFF Cup final 2020 (2021) between Indonesia vs Thailand at the National Stadium, Singapore, Wednesday (29/12).
Indonesia will undergo the final first leg of the AFF Cup against Thailand on Wednesday (29/12). Initially, it was certain that the Indonesian national team could perform with full strength, but later the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) stated that Pratama Arhan could not play.
Assistant coach of the Indonesian national team, Nova Arianto, confirmed that Arhan was shown a yellow card during the second leg of the semifinal against Singapore. At first the AFF Cup through the tournament’s official website did not include a yellow card for Arhan.
“Right [Arhan terkena akumulasi di final leg pertama], and has been corrected [AFF]. After the penalty incident in the last minute of the second half,” Nova said.
Arhan got two yellow cards in the two legs of the AFF Cup semifinal against Singapore, which made the PSIS Semarang defender have to miss one match.
If the Indonesian national team is certain to lose one player in the first leg of the AFF Cup final, then Thailand cannot field two key players.
Thailand also lost left back Theerathon Bunmathan due to yellow card accumulation. Theerathon and Arhan were only able to play in the second leg of the AFF Cup final which was held on Saturday (1/1).
In addition, Thailand also certainly cannot be strengthened by the main goalkeeper, Chatchai Butprom, who is injured.
Chatchai injured his left knee ligament against Vietnam in the semi-final 2nd leg and has been out for 6-8 months.
