3 numbers achieved by Al-Hilal by qualifying for the Club World Cup final

After defeating the South American champion, Brazilian club Flamengo, and qualifying for the final of the Club World Cup held in Morocco, Al Hilal Saudi Arabia secured the first medal in the history of its participation in this tournament.

Seventh medal:

  • Arab clubs have previously won 6 medals in the Club World Cup finals, which varied between silver and bronze.
  • Al-Ahly of Egypt won half of the Arab medals before the current World Cup, and they were all bronze in the 2006, 2020 and 2021 championships.
  • Moroccan Raja won the silver medal in 2013, Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates repeated the same feat in the 2018 Championship, and the Qatari Al Sadd won the bronze in the 2011 World Cup.
  • Al-Hilal Saudi Arabia secured at least a silver medal by reaching the final match, and it will work towards achieving an unprecedented Arab achievement by winning the gold medal and the cup.

Third final

  • Reaching the FIFA Club World Cup final is an achievement achieved twice by Arab clubs, once by representatives of Asia and once by representatives of Africa.
  • Moroccan Raja was the first Arab team to reach the FIFA Club World Cup final in 2013 and won silver after losing to Germany’s Bayern Munich.
  • Al Ain UAE reached the final of the UAE World Cup 2018 and won the silver medal after losing the final to Real Madrid.
  • Al-Hilal has become the third Arab club to reach the FIFA Club World Cup final, after its historic victory over Flamengo, the South American champion, by three goals in Moroccan territory.

Arab supremacy

• The three times during which the Arabs qualified for the Club World Cup final came at the expense of the South American champions in 2013, 2018 and 2022.

• Raja passed Brazil’s Atletico Mineiro in 2013 after defeating it 3-1 in a historic match in Marrakech.

• Al Ain made an epic in the Emirates in 2018 in an exciting draw with River Plate, the Argentine champion of South America at the time, 2-2, then winning on penalties and qualifying.

• Al-Hilal crossed through the same gate to the World Cup final after defeating Flamengo, the South American champion, 3-2.

• The 2020 championship, which was held in Qatar, witnessed a new supremacy of the Arabs over the South American champions, after Al-Ahly defeated Brazilian Palmeiras by penalty kicks in the bronze medal match, after the match ended in a goalless draw.
