3 New Features Make Money on Instagram

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Instagram launched a feature so that content creators on its platform can earn money from their followers.

The trick is to provide a subscription service so that content creators can provide exclusive content for their fans.

This was done following the success of the donating platform for content creators through Patreon and OnlyFans. So, some social networks try to apply the same way for content creators.

Previously, Twitter has also poured a similar feature called Super Follow. Other platforms like TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, and YouTube have worked on similar subscription features.

According to a report by analytics firm Sensor Tower and Apptopia, the Instagram app for iOS was recently updated with a new in-app purchase called “Instagram Subscriptions” with prices ranging from $0.99 to $4.99.

Instagram is indeed intensively providing features so that content creators can earn money through their platform. Apart from using a subscription service, Instagram also plans to create a Non-Fungible Token (NFT), as reported by 9to5Mac.

The head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri, previously spoke about the company’s monetization strategy at the Creator Week event last June.

“I like that because it gives creators a direct connection with their fans, which I think may be more sustainable and more predictable in the long term,” Mosseri said. TechCrunch.
