3 Lecturers Died Exposed to Corona, UNS Lockdown Starts Tomorrow

Sadness surrounds sebelas Maret University (US) Solo. In at least two days, three UNS lecturers have died in an exposed condition corona virus or COVID-19.

This was conveyed by the Chancellor of UNS Jamal Wiwoho when opening the prayer together for the three lecturers. A joint prayer event will be held online tonight.

“UNS mourned at least two days yesterday and today we lost our lecturers, our friends, our best people at UNS,” said Jamal in his remarks, Thursday (17/6/2021).

The three lecturers are Dr. Muhammad Arif Taufiqurrahman from the Faculty of Medicine, Didiek Sri Wahyono from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and Medianto from the Faculty of Engineering. Jamal said COVID-19 was the reason the three died.

“COVID has taken his life. COVID has separated the three of them from us. And COVID has taught us a lesson to always be careful. We pray together,” he said.

In the event, Jamal said he felt lost by the departure of the three lecturers. Because the three of them have their own memories for Jamal and the academic community US other.

“From Dr. Muhammad Arif Taufiqurrahman, a great lecturer, a good lecturer, a very pleasant lecturer at the same time he often decorates the television screen, his voice is great. He is a lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine,” said Jamal.

“Mr. Didik Sri Wahyono, ST, MT, a lecturer who is currently studying for his doctoral degree in England. He is also an extraordinary religious activist. He is the head of the NU branch in England. to study abroad, inspire them to do research and publications,” Jamal added.

“Thirdly, Ir Medianto MT. Pak Medi is a great lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, energetic, inspiring young lecturers. These three best lecturers have left us together with a million inspiring memories,” he said.

Confirmed separately, Jamal said that he would strictly limit activities at UNS on June 18-25, 2021. Only the academic community with urgent matters will be allowed to enter.

“Yes, that’s right, the activity restrictions are on June 18-25. Basically, only the important ones can enter,” Jamal told reporters by telephone.

According to him, activities on campus have been quiet for about a month because of the college holidays. He ensured that the transmission of COVID-19 was impossible because of the face-to-face lecture that was being tested by UNS.

“It’s impossible to be exposed because of experimental learning (face to face). Because the experiment is April, May is already Eid holiday. We then do tracing,” he added.
