JAKARTA – Maybe many are curious, how can the very cinematic Confabulation short film be recorded entirely using only the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra camera?
Confabulation is a collaborative work between Galaxy Movie Studio 2021 and director Angga Dwimas Sasongko. The film has been airing since May 5, 2021 on the official Samsung Indonesia YouTube. In just three weeks, the film recorded nearly 3 million views.

IT & Mobile Marketing Director, Samsung Electronics Indonesia Miranda Warokka said, Confabulation was recorded by optimizing the features available on the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G.
“The 108MP Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G camera is supported by powerful features such as Miss Binning, which allows various scenes to be captured in high quality even in low light. So it can produce epic visualizations as seen in Confabulation,” he said.
Confabulation is played by Reza Rahadian as Bilal’s agent and Dian Sastrowardoyo as Marla’s agent.
Miranda also said that the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G was able to democratize the video production process. “Because anyone can make a video like a movie,” he said.
One of the uniqueness of Confabulation is how director Angga Dwimas Sasongko dares to take the action heist genre with scenes that stimulate the audience’s adrenaline. Likewise, the visuals are packed dark and gloomy, which is actually very challenging to do via a smartphone.
