3 European Industries Dependent on Russian Gas, Number 2 Threatened By Bankruptcy

JAKARTA – There are at least three industry in gas dependent Europe Russia . The sanctions imposed by Europe on Russia have discouraged Russia from re-exporting its gas supplies and disrupted European industrial companies.

Launching from acer.europa.eu, Europe imports 80% of its total gas needs. Domestic production has halved in the last 10 years.
The housing sector accounts for the bulk of EU gas demand (40%), followed by industry and the use of gas for power generation.

From this data, it can be seen that several industries in Europe also depend on Russian gas. Even though it has a small percentage, the role of gas is still big for some of these companies.

Here are three European industries that depend on Russian gas:

1. Shell (Netherlands)

A multinational oil and gas company and one of the largest industries in Europe. One of Shell’s subsidiaries in Germany had refused to pay in rubles so that the gas ration given to the industry was cut.

As a fuel industry, they certainly have a hard time when Russia makes such arbitrary policies.

A statement also emerged from the official shell.com website, where they were quite sorry for buying Russian gas and oil that did not live up to expectations.
