3 Dead in New York Due to Heavy Snowfall and Road Closures: Erie County Hit with 22-28 Inches of Snow

The heavy snowfall that hits the north through New York due to the lake effect left 3 people dead due to the snow and road closures.

In the last few hours there have been snow accumulations between 22 and 28 inches of snow in Erie County.

This has maintained driving restrictions in several counties.

Also, unfortunately, three deaths were reported during these storms.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz reported the deaths on Wednesday, including a man who died from shoveling snow.

“Since the dual lake effect snowstorms began, three people have died from storm-related events,” he detailed.

“ A 64-year-old man from shoveling on Monday, a 41-year-old man from a hit-and-run on Monday, and a 57-year-old woman from cold conditions on Tuesday,” Poloncarz reported.

The Erie County executive asked the population not to carry out high-impact activities.

“If you have a heart condition or are an older adult, do not use snow shovels or blowers. “Too many older adults die from it annually,” he indicated.

Snowfall will continue over the next few days in and around Buffalo.
