The 32nd round in the English league continued tonight (Saturday) when Arsenal defeated Brighton with a crushing 0:3. Thanks to the victory, the Gunners temporarily rose to first place, with 71 points on their balance sheet, one more than Manchester City and the second Liverpool, who have a game missing in the rest of the cycle against Manchester United.
Mikel Arteta’s team dominated the game from the first moment, when after a minute and a half, Gabriel shot and missed the frame from a smart exercise in a stationary position. The guest continued to get into situations and in the 33rd minute the breakthrough finally came. Gabriel Jesus was fouled in the area by Tarik Lamptey, Bocayo Saka approached the penalty spot, rolled the ball easily into the net and made it 0:1 for the Gunners.
In the second half, the team from North London continued to play. In the 62nd minute, Saka was injured and remained on the grass, but Martin Odgor did not stop the game for his teammate and instead found Jorginho with a smart deep ball, who made it 0:2 for Kai Habertz. Towards the end, Andrew Trusser completed the celebration when he received a tremendous ball at a great distance from Havretz, ran all the way to the 0:3, celebrated in front of his former team and determined the result of the game.

With the win, Arsenal still maintain their crazy streak, without a single defeat in the league in 2024. In 11 Premier League games in the current calendar year, Arteta’s team collected 31 points from a possible 33, scored 42 goals (!) and conceded only four. The club will now wait to see what Liverpool will do at Old Trafford, with a loss for the Merseysiders also leaving the Gunners at the top with seven games left of the season.
