Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
President Russia, Vladimir Putinrevealed a number of conditions to end their team’s invasion of Ukraine. Starting from demanding the neutrality of Kiev to recognizing Crimea.
Russia is known to have invaded eastern Ukraine on Putin’s orders on Thursday (26/2). On that day Moscow troops stormed into a number of cities and soon there were explosions.
Even fierce fighting was inevitable between Ukrainian and Russian forces. To date, according to a United Nations (UN) report, 102 civilians have been killed and 500,000 displaced.
Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelensky, has been calling for peace from the start but Russia has ignored it. The following is a list of conditions that the Kremlin put forward to end the invasion of Ukraine during talks with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday (28/2).
1. Ukraine Must Be Neutral
Putin demanded that Ukrainians be neutral and not on the side of the West.
Long before the invasion took place, Russia also frequently stated that Ukraine should not join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Putin is worried that if that happens, his country’s sovereignty and security will be threatened.
