3 big advantages of gaming on a console (and not a PC)

PC gamers may count themselves in the PC master race, but there are 3 huge advantages to gaming on a console.

With the brand new generation of consoles on the market, it is time to take stock again. Both the PlayStation 5 as the Xbox Series X are monstrous consoles. On the other hand, the mighty gaming PC, which according to PC gamers (including yours truly) is superior to a console. But with the current generation there is still something to be said about that.

Why a console is better than a PC

Therefore, in this article, 3 reasons why it is better to buy a console than a gaming PC, all start with a ‘g’ in one way or another … On the other hand, do not worry dear PC master racing fans, you can’t argue about taste. And for the real bosses among us, there is still the possibility to go for both options! Again, I am an advocate.

Cheaper

Let’s kick off with the most Dutch reason to buy a console: you get the same for much less money! Beide gaming stations costs around € 500 and then you have a sample container.

In comparison, my RTX 2070 Super graphics card cost just as much. There you are with your super-fast card, without all the other components that turn a piece of fused metal into a game powerhouse.

No fuss

This plays a part in the second point: PCs are quite a hassle to build, unlike consoles. Parts have to be compatible, you have to order them separately and it takes a lot of research. A treat for real PC builders, but a bit of a hassle.

Unlike a console. When I received the Xbox Series X review unit, I was ready to play in half an hour. Okay, I still had to download games on the console, but when building a PC you don’t get to that until hours later. In short, consoles are simply plug & play, no hassle!

Built to pop

Finally, consoles are simply built to pop, unlike PCs. You also have to be able to work with the latter, save things, file your tax returns, chat with your boss and so on. In short, all rubbish that makes the machine run slower, or at least makes it more unclear.

A console also has a big advantage in terms of hardware; it is designed for gaming. Everything is optimized to play games, allowing Sony and Microsoft to squeeze the last drop of (computing) power out of each part. This in turn helps to keep prices and the complexity of the machine low.
