Los Cabos, Baja California Sur. – Residents of Los Cabos were once again surprised by a 3.7 magnitude earthquake recorded at 5:26 this Tuesday afternoon, with an epicenter 6 kilometers southwest of San José del Cabo; at a depth of 11.9 kilometers.

Residents of San José el Cabo say that “the movement felt bad”, and that they were even scared by the noise produced by the movement of the earth, although it was very fast, they were able to perceive it.
Some of the comments generated among residents are that September is one of the months of the year with the highest number of earthquakes. “The month where hurricanes historically approach, and now tremors, no, well, September 2024 is great,” said Miguel, a resident of San José el Cabo.

Leticia González, a resident of the Lomas del Sol 2nd stage neighborhood in Cabo San Lucas, said that she was sleeping soundly on Tuesday morning when she heard the sound produced by the earthquake and woke up startled, so if more earthquakes occur, she will go to sleep in the rooms on the second floor to feel safer.

Jesús Iván Loya Villazaña, municipal deputy director of Civil Protection in Los Cabos, announced that this earthquake is almost similar to the one that occurred at 5:58 in the morning, local time, which was 4.3 magnitude and was felt by some people, as well as the one recorded after 5:00 in the afternoon, “I did feel this one and well,” said the official, so it is not ruled out that more movements will continue to occur.
