He National Seismological Institute last night registered a 3.6 magnitude earthquake and epicenter 10 kilometers deep located in the middle of the sea, in front of Cabo de Palos. The magnitude and shallowness, in addition to other geological characteristics, made the earthquake perceived in almost the entire coast of the province of Alicante, and there were even perception records from Cartagena or Valencia.
The earthquake was located in front of Guardamar and Torrevieja and was clearly noticed in these towns as well as Santa Pola, Crevillent and Elche. Specifically in Elche there were records of the perception of the earthquake in the carrus, Altabix or El Pla. It was also seen in Pilar de la Horadada and even Cartagena to the south and Valencia to the north.
