The gap between the platform and the subway is an obstacle for wheelchair users in particular to get into the car safely.
Here is a picture from New York of what an inexpensive solution to this problem could look like. We already showed a similar solution in 2014, in our picture Munich plastic ramps on the platform of the subway.
In Vienna one goes a different way. Here the wagons on the U6 line have small plastic wedges that serve the same purpose. On the other lines there are automatically folding ramps on newer vehicles.
