That’s what I thought at first too. But 45 minutes of match practice will do us good. A test like this is very welcome, especially since some of us are coming back from injuries.
Against Hartberg, pressing will be particularly important, as they still take a lot of risks when playing out. Camara still has his weaknesses in this regard.
+1 In my opinion, we didn’t lose the Rapid game because of a lack of quality or because we didn’t adequately replace the players who left, but simply because the coordination isn’t right + other little things. These only come with match practice, perhaps the “annoying” qualifying games in recent years weren’t so bad at the start of the season, because you’re already well-rehearsed for the league.
Last year, Rapid played some great games at the start of the season. Then the other teams got their match practice and it wasn’t so easy anymore. This year, unfortunately, we are one of those teams, due to the late return of some regular players, the departure of regular players, etc. Up until now, in recent years, we have only sold/given away strikers from the starting eleven, so the impact is not so massive.
That’s why you’ll see me again this weekend, fully motivated and full of positive feelings, “whipping” the team forward in the stadium against Hartberg. I hope many people will do the same as me and not let themselves be unsettled.
