Andreas Patz had no reason to be happy in his first game after being promoted to head coach of Jahn Regensburg. After the 0:1 (0:1) against 1. FC Magdeburg, the promoted team in the 2nd Bundesliga remains at the bottom of the table, four points behind relegation place 16.
The Magdeburgers presented themselves as the more mature team in front of 11,047 spectators in the Jahnstadion, but the hosts still beat themselves in the end. When the score was 0-1 with the heel of midfielder Mohammed El Hankouri, goalkeeper Felix Gebhardt let the ball slip through his legs. In the 89th minute, Christian Viet missed a flattering penalty for Jahn from the spot. FCM goalkeeper Dominik Reimann saved the shot.
