Hamburger SV won the final game of the 19th game day of the 2nd Bundesliga 4: 1 (2: 0) against 1. FC Nürnberg. The goals for HSV were scored by Bakery Jatta (18th minute), Lukas Hinterseer (28th, penalty), Sonny Kittel (67th penalty) and Gideon Jung (82nd). Tim Handwerker scored for the guests to 2-1 (51st).

Hamburger SV started the first competitive game of the year with two new players in front of almost 40,000 spectators: Jordan Beyer (loan from Borussia Mönchengladbach) and Louis Schaub (loan from 1. FC Köln) started for HSV. Especially Schaub caused a stir right from the start. After a nice individual action by the 25-year-old Sonny Kittel narrowly missed the goal – his shot in the 16th minute missed a meter on the right post.
It was better for two minutes Jatta: A smock from the left wing turned the offensive player from five meters into the short corner. It was a very special goal for Jatta: In the first half of the season, the Nuremberg team protested against the 0: 4 rating against HSV because of doubts about Jatta’s eligibility to play.

The hosts combined, Nuremberg was just chasing. Kittel missed again in the 26th minute from a semi-standing position, shortly afterwards Konstantinos Mavropanos let his leg in the penalty area against Jerermy Dudziak – Referee Markus Schmidt immediately decided on a penalty. Hinterseer converted the penalty due into the left corner (28th).

A catastrophic bad pass in the set-up brought the guests back into play: Ex-Nuremberg Tim Leibold fitted the ball into the feet of artisans, who accomplished from a distance into the right corner (51.). The HSV wobbled now. A quarter of an hour later, Nuremberg defender Georg Margreitter fended off the ball in the penalty area with the angled underarm – referee Schmidt decided again in the video images on penalty. This time Kittel started and lifted the ball into the net (67.). It was Kittel’s tenth goal of the season.

Before the 2: 1 Leibold had blundered back, in the 82nd minute he prepared the 4: 1 with a soulful lift in the back of the defense: The substituted young had no difficulty in scoring his first second division goal.
After the success, HSV regained second place in the table from VfB Stuttgart, the Nuremberg team slipped to 17th and penultimate after the defeat.
