The ECA North and West Africa Offices are organizing, in partnership with the Government of Ghana, the second Joint Intergovernmental Committee of Senior Officials and Experts for North and West Africa under the theme “Investing in the energy transition, food security and regional value chains for sustainable development in North and West Africa”. This event will take place in Accra (Ghana) from 1is to November 3, 2023.
Alongside this meeting, the ECA will hold a meeting of experts which will be held under the theme “Transition to renewable resources for energy and food security in North and West Africa” on 1is November 2023.
Statutory deliberative bodies of the ECA, the intergovernmental committees of senior officials and experts for North Africa and West Africa aim to take stock of the work accomplished by the sub-regional offices of the ECA. CEA in the two sub-regions over the past year, and determine their upcoming work programs and strategic directions in relation to the countries’ development priorities.
The meetings on November 1-3 also constitute a discussion platform for decision-makers, experts, researchers, and representatives of the private sector and civil society wishing to evaluate and analyze trends in the economic and social situation of the sub-regions.
