2nd ICC Conference: Access to financing, the other problem…

Under the theme “ Celebrate heritage, invest in progress », this 2th edition was marked by the signing of an agreement between the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank Group and Tamwilcom. This partnership aimed at supporting the cultural and creative sector is divided into three areas including the market study, the technical assistance program and the financing offer.

Access to financing, identified by the majority of professionals as being an obstacle to the development of the sector, was discussed through experiences in Morocco such as crowdfunding. This method of financing will open up new opportunities, particularly in the gestation phase of projects, but also for larger investments.

Successful international experiences have made it possible to debate the benefit of creating a public-private fund dedicated to financing cultural projects. This approach, halfway between sponsorship and patronage, would allow donors to have projects analyzed by qualified experts in the different sectors and strengthen the quality of national production.

To this end, the FICC announced that it will present its proposal for a specific status for cultural enterprises by the end of 2024. The federation also announced that it is working on the development of a proposed law on the patronage.

For the organization, this second edition, placed under the sign of innovation and PPP, made it possible to highlight encouraging figures: the ICC sector has recorded 33% of new business creations since 2019, and a 20% growth in declared jobs.

During these two days, from the five thematic panels, it emerges first and foremost that creativity is finding its letters of nobility more than ever in a very competitive global environment where technological developments continue to redefine the rules of the game…
