2nd Bundesliga: Magdeburg borrows Stuttgart talent Ömer Beyaz

1. FC Magdeburg has secured the services of Ömer Beyaz. The young talent comes free of charge on loan from VfB Stuttgart to the second division promoted team. Beyaz still has a contract with first division club Stuttgart until 2025, so a purchase option for FCM is ruled out. In the past season, the Turkish junior national player played four Bundesliga games and one DFB Cup game for the Swabians.

From Fenerbahce Istanbul to VfB

The 18-year-old can play centrally or on the flanks on offense. Before moving to VfB, the 1.71 meter tall Beyaz played for top Turkish club Fenerbahce Istanbul. There he played a total of five games in the first Turkish league in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons. He was also previously active for Fenerbahce in the U19 Süper Lig and recorded two goals in 14 games in the 2019/20 season.

FCM game philosophy suits Beyaz

Magdeburg’s head coach Christian Titz is convinced of the new signing: “With Ömer we get a strong and talented player for the offensive area.”

Otmar Schork, FCM sporting director, also expects a lot: “Ömer can be used flexibly and will be an invigorating element for our offensive. VfB and we are convinced that he will take the next step with us because our game philosophy goes to him fits.”
